VIBROACOUSTIC THERAPY

What is Vibroacoustic Therapy?

Vibro = vibration

Acoustic = sound

Vibroacoustic therapy involves the use of pure low frequency sound waves translated into vibrations to stimulate body cells into therapeutic states of relaxation and healing. The technology for this therapy was created in the 1980s in Norway by Olav Skille.

Vibroacoustic Therapy (VAT) may be used as an independent therapy or added on to other therapeutic modalities for deeper healing experiences.

Some Benefits of Vibroacoustic Therapy:

Activation of the parasympathetic (rest, heal & digest) nervous system

Improved sleep

Reduction in stress, anxiety, depression

Reduce body pain

Increase whole body circulation

Reduce blood pressure

Reduce healing time

Increased focus and concentration

Regulate limbic system (emotional memories)

Deep meditation

How does it work?

Brain Entrainment

Entrainment [physics]: a phenomenon that occurs when one rhythmic vibrating frequency synchronizes with another.

Sound, through music, is used to coax the brain using specific frequencies that stimulate brain waves into different therapeutic states.

Vibration

Transducers within the bed are synced with the low frequency sound waves, creating vibrations. This low frequency tactile stimulation reaches the cellular level encouraging increased circulation and decreased pain. It’s like an internal massage for your cells.

Brain Stimulation

Low frequency waves stimulate healthy, balanced neural connections helping to downregulate the nervous system (stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system).

  • HBOT – done before you jump into our chamber, VAT increases your circulation and is a great benefit for absorbing more oxygen during your hyperbaric dive sessions

All VAT sessions start with a brief intake or check in. Our vibroacoustic therapy mat is on the treatment table and is turned on when you’re ready for your session to begin. Once you feel a comfortable level of vibration, we ensure you are comfortable and warm, then allow you to rest for the duration of your session.

After your session, we do another brief check in. Remember to hydrate well after every session!
