ABOUT MEDICARE:
  • Regular Medicare and Medicaid Plans are NOT accepted.
  • Some Medicare Advantage Plans may be accepted.
Please note: Medicare Advantage Plans ONLY cover low back pain present for more than 12 weeks, not caused by any other condition.
Call your insurance provider to confirm that there are no additional special requirements for acupuncture visits for your Medicare Advantage Plan.
Due to the fluctuations in the insurance industry, please contact your insurance company to verify what your health benefits and deductible are for acupuncture services BEFORE your first visit.

We check your benefits prior to your first visit as a courtesy and confirmation of coverage. Insurance information provided by your insurance company is not a guarantee of payment. Not all conditions and services are covered by insurance. If your insurance company does not cover services for your visits, you are responsible for payment of the balance on your account.
Not sure what to ask? Inquire about:
Is acupuncture covered under your plan?
Not all health insurance plans cover acupuncture.
Do you require a doctor's referral?
What is the deductible for your medical plan? What is your copay or coinsurance?
If yes, how much is it?
Are there a limited number of treatments per year?
Insurance plans limit the number of yearly treatments (does not apply to HSA/FSA cards)
What insurance does not cover: As these cannot be billed to your insurance, you are responsible for the costs of these services.
  • Herbal formulas
  • Supplements
  • Virtual consultations
  • Bodywork-only visits

Some insurance plans do not cover (even when included as part of an acupuncture treatment):
  • Cupping
  • Shiatsu
  • Cranialsacral therapy
  • Sotai
Ask your insurance provider if “manual therapy” is covered when checking your benefits.
