What is Ikigai?

Two of the most common questions I get about my business name are:
How is it pronounced?
Pronounced: ee - kee - guy

What does it mean?
I chose this name because it reflects the mission and philosophy of my practice. Ikigai is an old Japanese concept that has long been associated with the nation's long life expectancy. Ikigai has no direct translation into English. It's easiest to understand the concept of ikigai by breaking down it's characters:
IKI - translates to
It is about finding genuine joy in life through purpose. In essence, your ikigai is the reason you wake up in the morning that brings value, purpose and happiness to your life.

My practice focuses a lot on chronic illnesses, not only because of it's physical effects, but very much the mental-emotional toll it can have on a person's life. It takes time and commitment. I am here as a guide to help your body return to a more balanced state but you are the true healer in your own journey.

Not sure what your ikigai is? Let's find it together.
